Rainbow for a Greener Future is not a slogan we added to a wall. It is a set of habits inside a heavy-engineering workshop — what we throw away, what we burn, what we draw from the tap, and the ground we leave behind us.
Rainbow for a Greener Future
Machining, foundry work, plating and thermal spray are energy- and resource-hungry by nature. So the first honest step was not a target, it was a meter: 2026 is our first fully measured year, reported month by month into the Environment Agency's Green Business Network platform rather than estimated in-house.
The programme runs on two tracks. Inside the fence we go after consumption — paper, electricity, water and the waste stream — measured monthly and reviewed with department heads rather than left to a poster campaign. Outside it, our teams take part in community environmental work across Abu Dhabi and keep adding greenery around our own premises. Environmental management is certified to ISO 14001:2015 and audited as part of the group's integrated management system, so what follows is governed, not self-declared.
Certified, not self-declared
ISO 14001:2015
Environmental management system certification, held as part of the group IMS.
ISO 45001:2018
Occupational health & safety management — the same system covers our people.
ADPHC OSH
Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre occupational safety & health certification.
IMS Policy
Signed environmental and HSE commitments, published in full on our About page.
Reported month by month into the Environment Agency’s Green Business Network platform. This is a baseline, not a victory lap: it shows exactly where our carbon comes from, and it shows the summer peak we now have to work against.

Figures are taken from our Green Business Network submission for 2026 and cover January to July, with one partial August figure. September onward is not yet reported — those months are shown as outstanding rather than as zero. Business travel has not yet been submitted, and no per-employee intensity is given because headcount is not set in the portal.
What we actually do
A programme that keeps growing
These are the initiatives running today. The list is not fixed — planting and waste segregation joined it recently, and what is in motion next is set out at the end.
01Our team
Community clean-up drives
Rainbow teams join organised clean-up campaigns in Abu Dhabi alongside the Environment Agency's Green Business Network — physically clearing waste from shoreline and desert sites, and weighing what comes out so the result is measured rather than assumed.

Waste weighed and recorded on site
Volunteers from every department, not just HSE
02
Planting & greening
Planting is the part of the programme our people volunteer for most readily. Trees and shrubs go in around the facility and at community sites, chosen for species that survive an Abu Dhabi summer on minimal irrigation rather than for how they look on the day they are planted.

Drought-tolerant species selected for local conditions
Planted areas maintained, not just photographed
03
Save Paper
An internal awareness programme delivered as staff presentations rather than a notice on a board. Job cards, inspection records and approvals are moving to digital, and duplex printing is the default across the offices.

04
Save Electricity
The workshop is the largest single load we control, so this is where the attention goes: lighting conversion, switching discipline on idle machines, and compressed-air leak checks — the unglamorous items that actually move a meter.
LED conversion across shop and office lighting
Shutdown discipline on idle machines and extraction
Compressed-air leak surveys
05
Save Water
Water is used in machining coolant, plating rinses and washdown. Reducing it means catching losses at the source and reusing where the process safely allows, rather than trusting good intentions.
Leak detection on process and washdown lines
Controlled rinse practice in the plating shop
Coolant managed and reused rather than dumped
06
Waste segregation & recycling
A machine shop produces well-sorted waste if you let it: swarf and offcuts, used coolant, packaging, paper and electronics all have separate routes. Segregating at the bin is what makes recycling possible further down the line.

Theme
Rainbow for a Greener Future
Rainbow joined the Green Business Network clean-up at Baniyas Lake, working alongside other Abu Dhabi industrial facilities and partner organisations. The Green Business Network is the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi's programme for engaging industrial facilities in environmental practice, and its clean-up campaigns are deliberately hands-on: teams clear the site themselves and the collected waste is weighed before it leaves.
